Ben said that on the Internet he could look for information on anything he liked. He added that he used the Internet for homework and for research. He thought that The Internet was much more interactive while the radio and the press were just boring. He said that on the Internet you could connect with the whole world. He added that he could talk to his overseas friends because he had his own e-mail address. He thought that the Internet had everything you could get from the press, television or the radio.
Sue said that The Internet was wonderful if you searched for information. She added that the Internet was useful for homework and revision as well. She thought that the Internet was great for a research. But she said that newspapers or magazines couldn’t stop working suddenly. She added that there was something special about getting a magazine you had wanted.
She knew that if she stared at the computer screen for too long, it hurt her eyes.

I am not a big fan of the Internet. Firstly, social networks take a lot of time. When we spend too much time sitting behind the computer, our sight becomes worse.
Secondly, not everything in the Internet is true. People see beautiful photos, and then they begin to envy other people’s lives. Also, many Internet users stop reading books or going out at all. Plus, teenagers spend too much time playing online violent and aggressive games. Of course, compared to newspapers or magazines, the information on the Internet is updated more often, but, as I have already said, this information is not always true.

Reading magazines is good for our memory. It is also good for our brains, because reading magazines broaden our mind. As for the Internet, this medium is full of violence and bullying. Plus, many Internet users stop reading books or going out at all. Besides, not everything in the Internet is true.

I just want to say all Shout readers that there’s nothing wrong with teen magazines. I buy Shout, Mizz and Cosmo GIRL and they’re absolutely good for teens. They let young people express their views and individuality. They show that young people are not bad and can do positive things.Teen mags help you through life. They tell you about what really goes on in your life. Ever since I’ve been reading teen mags I have learnt things that I would never ask my parents about! I think that teen mags cater for every taste and interest.
Teenage magazines are also good for reading for fun. They are full of music, games and fashion. They include great gossip and you can also get really cool pictures and celebrity posters. Reading about celebrities in ridiculous situations can be helpful as you can prepare yourself for what’s going to happen when you get older.
If someone thinks that teen mags are rubbish and doesn’t buy them — that’s their choice. I think teen mags always give you practical and emotional advice, which is good and is usually what young people would follow. I, for example, get a lot of good advice from problem sections.
